A recently-divorced mother of two, Tracy was determined not to accept public assistance as a good example for her children. She was a florist, in training for a position as manager in the florist department of a local supermarket, when an automobile accident badly damaged her back. When she declined to have the risky back operation that her employer was demanding as a condition of continued employment, she was fired.
Tracy is a very creative woman, and had occasionally supplemented her income through jewelry-making. Make Piece provided a structure within which to enhance and expand her skills and entrepreneurial talents. Tracy presently works as a waitress, producing jewelry part-time for sale through Make Piece until such time as our market matures enough for her to work with us full time. We hope that day will be soon, as Tracy is a wonderful talent. |
