Cecelia has three daughters, thirteen grandchildren and recently lost her only son to a sudden asthma attack. She is a self-described "people person" so that helps to explain why all of her grandchildren want to hang out at her house. Cecelia worked for over ten years as a podiatry assistant (performing x-rays, medical tests and handling office records) until a leg injury disabled her.
Like so many of our other students, Cecelia has supplemented her income with crafting, for instance arranging flowers for weddings, home decorating and making commemorative shadow boxes. She took to jewelry making very quickly and considers making jewelry "therapeutic." She "loves crafts of all kinds because she loves to see things come together." She's also a marvelous asset at our sales, where she employs her considerable people skills to please our customers.
Since graduating from training, Cecelia has also developed a thriving private jewelry business. Representatives bring her products to three agencies every other week and she makes many sales as well as receiving many requests for commissioned work. Congrats, Cecelia!! |
